Book Review – “Eighty Hours to save Karen” by Sitharaam Jayakumar

Spread the love

As I have promised to myself to read more and more books and good stuff this year, I started with a friend and a brilliant writer, Jai’s first book which was published in 2018. So, here is the Book Review – Eighty Hours to save Karen by Sitharaam Jayakumar.

Author: Sitharaam Jayakumar, who blogs at http://www.jaispoetryblog.com/
Rating: 4.5/5
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Plot:

The story revolves around a little girl, Karen Lakshmi and her grandfather, Mathew Williams. After losing his son and daughter in law in an accident, Karen is all Mathew had. She was the apple of his eye, his whole world, his life. But something unpleasant happened with Karen all of a sudden and she went unconscious. With the fear of losing his doll, the grandfather ran pillar to post to save Karen. This story is so well crafted and gripping till the end that the reader will be tempted to keep turning the pages until it is finished.

Summary:

Karen, the only grandchild of Air Commodore Mathew Williams fell sick suddenly while playing in the garden. Her lips turned red and the body temperature dropped. The doctors were unable to diagnose the problem. Mathew suspects if she became the victim of a supernatural phenomenon or this was some rare disease. Clueless Mathew decides to unravel the mystery and save his little granddaughter from the jaws of death.

He embarked on a dangerous journey without worrying about his own life, for his life was Karen. All he could see was his grand child lying on the bed unconscious, sick. He traveled from the hills of Shimla to the city of Mumbai to solve this mystery. In this journey, Inspector Vikram and his wife Shivani stood by him as the pillars. To know more about the story, whether Mathew was able to save Karen or not, what was the illness all about, who was behind all this web, you need to read this book.

If you love suspense thrillers, this is a must read book for you. A total entertaining and engaging plot. Strong characters, brilliant narration, refined and polished language, makes this book a perfect pick. I finished it in one sitting as the twists and turns were so exciting that I never felt boredom even for a second. The book retains the mystery till the end and leaves the readers wondering what happened next. Nail biting situations as well as heart warming relations keep you hooked to the book. For the first time author, writing thriller suspense with such brilliance is just outstanding.
