A few tips to keep yourself fit – No you don’t need any resolution for this!
I think the title of this post itself says a lot about what you are going to read further in this post…Right? I am not a fitness freak, never hit the place called “gym”, never been hard on myself on my eating habits. I made resolutions then broke them, again made a few, again broken and finally realized I don’t need any resolutions to keep myself fit. Instead, all I need is a determination and will to be fit.
A few things that I follow in my day-to-day routine to keep myself in shape are listed below. These are quite doable and realistic tips which everyone can follow without any guilts. So, here goes the list:
Keep yourself hydrated:
They say, “Water is life” and I could not agree more. It is one such thing that has all the magical properties to keep the illness away. I have a sedentary work from home job but I make sure to fill 3 bottles of water, 1 liter each and keep them on my workstation. I keep sipping them from time to time as I target to finish it by end of the day. Sometimes, to make it more exciting and tastier, I prepare infused water or just nimbu pani (lemon water). Water flushes out all the toxins from our body and gives a fresh glow to the skin too. So, befriend with water today to avail lifetime benefits.
30 minutes with nature:
I am not a morning person so there is no question of going out on morning walks, no matter how hard I try. So, I go on afternoon walks. I prefer walking instead of taking a cab unless the distance is really far off. 30 minutes daily in the lap of nature rejuvenates my soul and I feel charged up for the rest of my day.
Work out in my own way:
As I have mentioned earlier, I am not a gym person and I eat anything and everything under the sun (veg) but I make sure to burn my calories by doing all the household chores on my own. I have said NO to lifts and I prefer climbing stairs. Running after the kids is no less than any work out too. It is the best way to keep myself fit and in shape.
Dancing:
I love dancing, though I am not a great dancer but who cares as long as it makes me happy and fit. I along with my daughters put on our favorite dance numbers and hit the floor every day. This not only burns the calories we consume in those cheeseburgers or chocolates but also strengthens our body muscles and our bond of course.
Laugh and stay happy:
This is one thing that I never fail to do. Laughing is the best therapy for everything. A happy heart dwells in a happy and healthy body. Learn to let go of things off your chest and move on for good. Live, learn, laugh and spread the love.
So, these are a few mantras that I swear by, to keep myself fit and happy. Join me in #Blogchatter HealthWatch campaign which will run on Instagram in January (7th-27th Jan) and share your fitness regime too. Below is the link to register:
