To All The ExtraordiNaris On This Women’s Day!
The world is celebrating Women’s day with all pompous and joy, there are sales on cosmetics, clothes, flowers, accessories, footwear and various other women products. A day when we are reminded of being important or I should rather say, a day when the world thinks and treat us important. The entire social media gets filled up with inspirational talks, quotes, articles about women.
There are many events where women are felicitated and recognized for their efforts in their particular fraternity. So, overall, a day out of 365 days in a year is dedicated to us. But, what about the rest 364 days? Are we not important all those days? Don’t we deserve any special treatment on all those days? Why are we reminded about our worth in the society by choosing one particular day?
People, we don’t need any obligatory embellishments to feel our worth, we don’t need a fixed day to be respected, we don’t need any occasion to feel pampered or loved. We deserve to be treated well and cherished every day. And, here we don’t mean gifting us solitaires, overpriced candies or blooms. We just look for equality in the society, a society – free of gender biasness, a society which does not think that we are just male property or a piece of furniture in the house, a society where we are not killed much before entering in the world.
The same world, the same society who is throwing parties in our honor today, does not need us tomorrow. Pregnant women are advised to do many remedies to conceive a boy making us feel unwanted. Then, why this celebration?
Today, I can’t deny that things have changed a lot for good in the past few years and women are leading in every single segment be it business, drama, sports, entertainment, IT, healthcare etc. But, at the same time, we can’t overlook the fact that we are still treated and termed as “Weaker sex”.
Every day, we are raped, killed, abused, molested, become a victim of acid attack, domestic violence, forced marriage, child marriage, eve teasing and so much more. There was a movement #ME TOO a few days back where most of us came forward bravely and accepted the bitter truth of being molested, assaulted or harassed, irrespective of age, education, status, and career.
Another aspect that bothers me is demeaning of women by another woman. We can be the best of friends and worst of enemies too. We can inspire each other to give our best and also we can trash talk about each other. We can be the strongest secret keepers and we can be the malignant revengers. We are already living in a male dominant society then why don’t we unite, join hands together and prove the WOMAN POWER. The decision is ours!!!
Remember ladies, we are special today and always, we need to realize our worth. We need to treat ourselves like a queen than waiting for others to crown us. We need to take a stand for ourselves than looking for support and shoulder. We need to make our pathway than hoping others to open doors for us.
We have the divine power to bring new soul in this world. We are the pillars of our families, the world of our kids. We have the ability to bake two families and nurture them. Never do disservice to yourself, just love yourself as we are the best and most beautiful creation of God.
