Top 5 Highly recommended Blogging Contests, every serious blogger must participate in #SuperBloggerChallenge #Instacuppa

Spread the love

I had no clue about the A to Z of blogging when I embarked on my writing journey way back in Sept 2017. It was more of a catharsis for me as it provided me solace. Randomly I used to share my musings on my blog. Gradually, I connected with a few more writers and started gaining more information about how blogging works and then Super Blogger Challenge happened. Though I had no idea about such challenges but I thought of giving it a try so I registered myself for it.

Blogging challenges help you grow as a writer in many ways and here are my top 5 picks of blogging contests which every serious blogger should take into consideration and participate:

Super Blogger Challenge:

As mentioned above, this was my first ever blogging challenge. It was a 10 weeks long contest started in Feb 2018, sponsored by Instacuppa with around 70+ participants. Every week, we had to write and add a post to the linky and engage on the other participants and host posts and share them on our social media handles.

To me, terms like “Linky”, “Tweet”, “Backlinks” etc. were totally aliens and I was quite overwhelmed but the hosts and a few fellow participants helped me overcome and I sailed through the entire challenge successfully. The icing on the cake was winning the Most Hardworking Blogger Award in the challenge. Not only I got a regularity in my writing but also read many fantastic post of the fellow writers and learned something or the other from each of them.

My takeaways from this challenge:
  1. Discovered about the bio-friendly brand Instacuppa which has a huge and diversified product line.
  2. Got familiar with Twitter and its usage, especially the twitter chats.
  3. Got an idea how to monetize my blog.
  4. Connected with many like-minded bloggers whom I call my friends today.
  5. Learned how to promote my blog and effective usage of social media.

Blogchatter A2Z:

This is the first time I would be participating in this challenge and I am ecstatic about it. As the name indicates, it is a 26 days challenge and the participants need to write 26 posts, one everyday. They can either follow any particular theme (travel / food/ short stories etc.) based on their niche and interest or are free to pen down random posts too.

Of all the contests, I feel this is the most challenging one as it involves everyday writing. My plan is to write the posts beforehand so that I will get time for reading the other participants posts. The best part of this challenge and why every blogger should consider this is that Blog Chatter assists them to publish their books and helps in promotion too. I am eagerly looking forward to it this year.

Blogchatter #myfriendalexa:

Another Blog Chatter brilliant writing challenge is #myfriendalexa. It is a month long challenge and the participants are expected to write at least 2 posts every week. More the merrier. It is more of a reading challenge than just writing as the engagement on all the post is mandatory. Last year 200+ participants enrolled for the challenge which meant every participant had to read 200+ posts.

This challenge not only gives your blog a visibility and views but also the organic readers and comments. This challenges aims at improving your blog ranks like DA (Domain Authority) and Alexa (which is the worldwide rank of the blog). There was a significant improvement in my rank before and after the challenge. The pro tip is to draft the posts in advance so that you can focus on the reading part easily.

Write Tribe Festival of Words Challenge:

This is another fantastic challenge for the writing enthusiasts. It is a 7 days challenge where you have to write on the given prompts. You need to submit one post daily for 7 days. The best part of this challenge is writing on the prompts. I tried my hand on fiction last year for the first time during this challenge. There are no prizes involved so you can experiment with your genre and you never know you may do wonders in a different writing style.

#100wordstory challenge on Momspresso and Women’s Web:

Every week Momspresso and Women’s Web give a picture prompt to write a short story in just 100 words. I have also attempted it a couple of times and it is really a wonderful experience to share your thoughts in a word limit of just 100 words. It not only helps you to cut short and use better and apt words to express your thoughts but also helps you brainstorm the ideas how you interpret the prompt.

Another reason I love this challenge is that I get to read many excellent entries and different interpretations of the same prompt. This challenge definitely brings out the writer inside you in the most imaginative and creative form.

Overall Benefits of these challenges:

  1. Get visibility in the digital blogging space.
  2. Organic readers and engagement on your blog.
  3. If people like your writings and connect with it, they follow and subscribe to your blog so you get more followers.
  4. Your rank is improved.
  5. You connect with many amazing writers.
  6. Regularity in writing.
  7. You read many different styles and genres of blogs and learn from them.
  8. With time and regular practice, your writing skills also improve.
  9. Writer’s or mental’s block is less likely to happen as you get more ideas when you read more.
  10. You become more creative and imaginative.

So, these were my 5 top choices of Blogging Challenges. Read my next blog to know 5 inpiring blogger of India whom I look up to.

I have participated in all the blogging contests other than the 100 word stories by momspresso or Womensweb. I guess writing impromptue with a premise isnt really my thing. But I have read some of your stories and they define the class of your skill. Keep it up

Hi Vartika! I have taken part in 4 of the 5 challenges in this list. Loved your compilation…Haven’t yet taken part in the 100 word stories even though I have written a lot of stories in the flash fiction format last year. One challenge I would add is NaNoWriMo even though I haven’t taken part in it but wish to. 🙂

The more one writes the better he or she becomes at writing. And if a person writes as a part of a blogging challenge he or she also gets to meet a lot of people with similar interests. Yours is a great post listing some of the best challenges that are available for people to participate in.
