7 quick Ways to charge up and re-energize yourself when tired of parenting
Parenting is not a humpy dory ride. It takes a village to raise the kids and if you are a stay-at-home mother, you are absolutely drained out by end of the day. However, my take away from parenting in the last three years is to take care of yourself first as you can’t serve from an empty pot. So, here are 7 instant ways I re-energize myself for the action-packed days:
Good food:
I make sure to start my day with a wholesome breakfast and a hot cup of tea. As I am prone to a migraine, I can’t afford to skip this meal as it gives me the energy to operate well throughout the day. Also, I munch on a handful of nuts every evening for that instant boost up. After a long tiring day, what keeps me going is the good food and I don’t compromise there.
Choco treat:
Yes, yes I know it sounds conflicting to my first statement but this is how it is. I grab a pack of chocolate or spoonful of Nutella whenever I am exhausted and don’t wish to wear the mommy cap. It satiates my gastronomical buds and the caffeine uplifts my mood instantly.
Nature therapy:
Nature has a magical power to soothe your soul. I go out on a walk and sit in the lap of Mother Nature and it is the best therapy for me to rejuvenate myself. I come back home with a happy mood, energized and refreshed.
Music:
I and my daughters love dancing so when they lose it completely, I turn on our favorite music and all of us shake our bellies. Call it “Killing two birds with one stone”, as it is a win-win situation for all of us. Girls become happy and I get refueled too.
Flashback:
Again a win-win state here, When my daughters shout their lungs out to put on the cartoon, I sit and watch their old photos and videos. All three of us enjoy them and have a hearty laugh to see how tiny they were and it also reminds me that this will not be the same forever, they will outgrow my lap soon and I will miss these moments.
Vent Out:
When nothing works, I call my mother or best friend and speak my heart out, I crib, I laugh, I cry, I share everything and listen to them and realize I am not alone in this mommy club. There are others too who are sailing in the same boat. And, it actually feels better.
Early to bed:
Not, not me! but the kids. There are days when kids get on my nerves and there is no escape. On such days, I try to tuck them to the bed an hour early and then treat myself with a home spa. Though this is a rare occasion so I settle myself with a hot shower.
So, these were my ways to re-energize myself. Would love to know yours too.
